About West Edgecombe Fire Department

The Beginnings-Present

West Edgecombe Fire Department (Station 12) was established on November 11, 1956 with 1 station. Present day, WEFD operates out of 2 stations with 39 members comprised of volunteers and part-time staff. West Edgecombe runs mutual-Aid with 9 other fire departments. WEFD currently has an ISO rating of 5, and currently has 8 fire apparatus that serve the West Edgecombe community.
